Dear Parish Family,
As we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey during 2025, to enhance our spiritual and financial well-being as a parish family, I am pleased to share the key priorities identified by our Finance Team and staff with the pastor's approval. After much consideration of our parish's financial situation, we have outlined three main areas for your support. Primarily, we invite you to make a pledge towards the Pew and Kneeler Capital Campaign, which aims to enhance the comfort and aesthetics of our worship space. Secondly, we ask you to continue your regular tithing, which is vital for the support of our parish's day-to-day operations and outreach programs as we stay consistent within our fiscal year budget. Lastly, we ask for your support towards the Bishop’s Stewardship Appeal, an initiative that enables us to extend our mission beyond the parish and serve the broader community in our diocese.
The importance of reaching the capital campaign goal, “Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future as Pilgrims of Hope”, is to fulfill the church survey needs while not falling into debt or having a shortfall in the church budget. “Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver”. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) We are excited to announce that in a few weeks, the Marshall Company will provide a sample pew to display in the church.
As mentioned above, your regular offertory sacrifice is what helps flourish our parish life. We have always been transparent on how these contributions are spent to evangelize by “Living the Gospel through the Eucharist”, ministries, and spiritual teachings. Each year we share this information during the “State of the Parish”. Being good stewards is what we are called to be; therefore, we ask that you continue to give to the weekly collection. Please know that your weekly financial sacrifice does not go unnoticed, especially during these times of uncertainty.
Finally, we do encourage you to support the Bishop’s Stewardship Appeal. However, due to the lack of organizational emphasis on the program by the diocese, we do not have the usual resources we have had in the past to support this important program. The programs that these dollars help support are worthy causes, such as The Mother Teresa Shelter, Catholic Charities, and the Seminarian program.
Your prayerful consideration and generous contributions are crucial in helping us meet all our goals, here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and School to serve the community more effectively. Thank you for your continued dedication, support, and love for our parish family.
Peace,
Fr. Frank X. Martínez, STL
