If unable to keep your hour in a particular week, must find a substitute or contact ministry coordinator if no substitute is available. Service for Ministers: Assist once per week to help keep track of adorers designated that day, be the contact person for that day and aid in finding substitutes when needed and assist in the recruitment and promotion of the adoration ministry. Time: Adorers, one hour per week (same hour each week) and Ministers, one day a week (same day each week) indefinitely, or until no longer able. (teens, adults) Service: Cleaning of the Altar on a weekly basis, laundry of church linens, all members alternate monthly. Serving meals for bereavement families. Bake Sales, income used for items needed for the Altar. Provide lunch at Newman Center for College Students as requested. Time: Meetings are from September through May once a month and as needed. (Youth who have received their 1st Holy Communion) Service: We serve God through worship and prayer. We assist the priest during the liturgy. We serve our parish family by being a reverent role model of prayer and service. We serve at the Sunday Masses, Holy Days of Obligation, and special liturgical celebrations. Time: Currently we serve on a rotation of all the Masses Special Skills: Willingness to serve at the altar of God in a reverent and prayerful manner. Able to serve at the English and Spanish Masses. (18 and older) Service: This ministry is dedicated to design and decorate the sanctuary during the liturgical season of Advent, Christmas, Easter and Ordinary Time along with various Feast Days and celebrations throughout the year. Assist in the distribu- tion of other materials (prayer cards, brochures, etc.) May also minister to the sick by taking the Eucharist and praying with those that are Home- bound parishioners, hospital patients and nursing home residents on a regular and routine basis. Time: Mass –two or more every month and on Holy Day of Obligations. Arrive 20 minutes before Mass to sign and check in. Attend initial training sessions and ongoing formation sessions as needed. Must attend (or online) a Safe Environment class and a receive a certificate (required by the Diocese). Special Skills: Love and reverence for the Eucharist, ease in public settings, Catholic in good standing who has received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist), must be a member of the Parish. We are the caretakers of the sacred vessels and vestments. preparation of the ritual books of the Gospel, Roman Missal and Lectionary. We attend the needs of the priest, ministers of the altar and the assembly. We also setup for Weddings, Funerals and Quinceañeras. A Sacristan is responsible for “the care of sacred vessels and things” used in the worship life of the parish. Time: Arrive 1 hour before Mass begins.
